According to recent TV news reports and websites such as the Associated Press, the hottest disguise this October 31st might not be Michael Jackson, but instead, the new Mr. Ponzi Bernie Madoff Halloween mask. This mask is labeled "Mr. Ponzi" in costume shops, but bears the strong resemblance to the man now serving time for taking other people's money. What's scarier than that right?

The creator of the rubber mask, Rubie’s Costume Company, has already reportedly sold 15,000 masks to various stores across the United States, with more orders on the way. Madoff makes for a scary character, who in real life is now serving 150 years in prison for his fraudulent crimes.

According to Associated Press, Howard Beige, the executive VP with Rubies believes that Super Mario or Michael Jackson masks might outsell the Mr. Ponzi Bernie Madoff Halloween mask.

The mask is made of soft, flexible latex and fits on overhead for most adults. So you may see quite a few of these when you're out and about on Halloween...However, it'll be totally up to the wearer of the mask whether they go as pre-prison Bernie in a fancy suit, or 150 to life Bernie in shackles and orange jumpsuit!
