Will Halloween 2009 be the year of the Madoff? According to recent TV news reports and websites such as the Associated Press, the hottest disguise this October 31st might not be Michael Jackson, but instead, the new Mr. Ponzi Bernie Madoff Halloween mask. This mask is labeled "Mr. Ponzi" in costume shops, but bears the strong resemblance to the man now serving time for taking other people's money. What's scarier than that right?

The creator of the rubber mask, Rubie’s Costume Company, has already reportedly sold 15,000 masks to various stores across the United States, with more orders on the way. Madoff makes for a scary character, who in real life is now serving 150 years in prison for his fraudulent crimes.

According to Associated Press, Howard Beige, the executive VP with Rubies believes that Super Mario or Michael Jackson masks might outsell the Mr. Ponzi Bernie Madoff Halloween mask.

The mask is made of soft, flexible latex and fits on overhead for most adults. So you may see quite a few of these when you're out and about on Halloween...However, it'll be totally up to the wearer of the mask whether they go as pre-prison Bernie in a fancy suit, or 150 to life Bernie in shackles and orange jumpsuit!

2 Truly Scary Horror Movie DVD's

Halloween goes far beyond dressing up, getting candy and putting up decorations.  Let's not forget that this holiday is all about ghouls, ghosts and goblins...and getting scared silly!  One of the best ways to liven up your Halloween party or get together is with a a truly horrifying flick or two on DVD.  You know the kind that will scare the pants off your guests and make them afraid to go anywhere dark...

There's two recent horror films available on DVD guaranteed to give people the chills.  The first one is "The Midnight Meat Train" starring Bradley Cooper and Leslie Bibb.  It tells the gruesome tale of the "Midnight subway butcher" who rides a night train and slaughters victims to hang up on meat hooks.  Cooper plays a photographer trying to track down this brutal butcher, but ends up going down a dark and dangerous path.  The movie is based on a short story done by Clive Barker so you know it's got to be a spine-tingling flick!

The second DVD to check out is appropriately called "Trick R Treat" and stars Anna Paquin among others.  It features several short story style movies, each tied together by a creepy, mysterious little trick r treater named Sam.  The movies focuses on the dangers of not following along with Halloween traditions, providing a true scare for all trick or treaters on October 31st!
